Novato's Auto Repair Shop on First Street
Novato drivers searching for a dependable auto repair shop don't have to go far. Hamiltons Automotive sits at 1032 First Street, a short drive from anywhere in Novato, and handles everything from a car diagnostic to a full transmission rebuild under one roof. Leo, the shop owner, picks up the phone himself, which is how Grayson Phillips ended up stopping in on his way to a client meeting and getting out fast with an oil change and a tire alignment recommendation. That kind of quick, straight answer is what keeps people coming back. The shop carries a 4.7-star rating across 111 Google reviews, and those numbers aren't inflated. Call 415-898-4842 to get scheduled.
Novato sits right in Hamiltons Automotive's core service territory. Whether you're coming from the Hamilton neighborhood, downtown Novato, or anywhere along Highway 101, the shop is an easy pull off First Street. Marin County roads put real wear on vehicles, and the stop-and-go through central Novato is especially hard on brakes and suspension. Leo's team knows what Novato drivers deal with daily, and the shop's service range reflects that. You're not getting sent to three different specialists. One stop handles it.
What We Fix
Every Repair Novato Vehicles Actually Need Every Repair
From a warning light to a full drivetrain rebuild, the work gets done here.
Engine Diagnostics
Check engine light on? ABS light? We run full multi-system scans and tell you exactly what's happening before any work starts. No guesswork, no parts-throwing. Novato drivers get a clear answer the same day.
Brake Repair
Stop-and-go through central Novato and on Highway 101 wears pads down faster than most people expect. We do pads, rotors, calipers, and brake fluid service. If you're hearing grinding, don't wait on it.
Oil Change and Scheduled Maintenance
We handle oil changes and manufacturer-interval services including 30k, 60k, 90k, and 120k mile checkups. Getting on a maintenance schedule is the single best thing you can do for a high-mileage vehicle.
Transmission Repair
Transmission work is where a lot of shops send you somewhere else. We don't. Transmission replacement and rebuilds are handled in-house. If something feels wrong shifting, call before it gets worse.
Suspension and Shocks
Rough roads in and around Novato beat up shocks and struts faster than the manufacturer's estimate suggests. If your ride feels soft, bouncy, or the car pulls to one side, that's suspension. We'll check it.
AC Repair
Marin summers get warm enough that a failing AC becomes a real problem fast. We diagnose and repair AC systems that aren't blowing cold. Call us at 415-898-4842 before the hottest weeks hit.

They get you on the road and keep you there, call with estimate, go over your service, service the whole car, keep up on regular maintenence. I'm singing their praises when I drive.
