Full Service Tire Work at One Shop

A full service tire shop covers more than swapping rubber, it handles everything from a nail in the sidewall to a complete set of new tires, plus the wheel balancing and alignment check that makes them actually last. At Hamiltons Automotive on First Street, that's what we do. If you're comparing shops or already know what you need, call 415-898-4842 and we'll get you in.

Tire service cost depends on what the vehicle actually needs. A basic patch repair and a full four-tire replacement with balancing are nowhere near the same job. Condition of the existing tires, wheel size, and whether the alignment is off all factor in. Putting new tires on a car with bad suspension or worn shocks and struts is money wasted, those components eat tires fast. Every job is different, contact Hamiltons Automotive INC for an accurate estimate.

Tire Services Handled In-House In-House

No sending you somewhere else. Cars, trucks, motorcycles, and golf carts, it all goes through one shop.

01

Flat Repair

Nail, screw, or road debris. If the puncture is in the tread and the tire structure is sound, we patch it correctly. Not every puncture is repairable. We'll tell you which ones aren't instead of guessing.

02

Tire Replacement

Single tire or a full set. We'll match to your vehicle's load rating and speed rating. Not just whatever's cheapest on the shelf.

03

Wheel Balancing

New tires need to be balanced before you drive them. Unbalanced tires shake at highway speed and wear unevenly. We balance every mount. It's not optional.

04

Tire Rotation

Front tires wear faster than rears on most vehicles. Regular rotation extends overall tire life. It's one of the cheapest maintenance steps and most people skip it.

05

Valve Stem Service

Old rubber valve stems crack and leak. We replace them when we mount new tires so a bad stem doesn't undo a good tire.

06

Pre-Trip Pressure Check

Quick inspection before a long drive. Tire pressure affects fuel mileage, handling, and tire life. Ten minutes here saves a roadside problem later.

How a Tire Visit Works

  1. 01

    Call First

Ring 415-898-4842 before you come in. We'll confirm what we have in stock or advise you on sourcing. Walk-ins are welcome, but a quick call saves time on both ends.

  2. 02

    Inspection Before Anything Else

We look at the tire condition, the rim, and the valve stem before recommending repair vs. replacement. If the damage isn't repairable, we'll say so directly.

  3. 03

    Mount, Balance, and Out

New tires get mounted and balanced before the vehicle moves. We won't hand you a car with an unbalanced wheel. That's how you end up with a shake at 65mph and a ruined tire in 8,000 miles.

What Makes Hamiltons Different on Tires

4.7 stars across 111 Google reviews. Leo has been hands-on at this shop since day one, and that shows in how tire work gets handled.

Independent shops can cut corners on tire work because most customers can't see it happen. Balancing skipped, old valve stems left in place, pressure set to whatever. We don't operate that way. One customer, Grayson Phillips, stopped in on the way to a client meeting and the team flagged that he needed a tire alignment before he even asked. That's the kind of shop this is.
Every tire gets balanced on mount
No exceptions. Skipping this step ruins tires and shakes the car.
Valve stems replaced with new tires
Old stems leak. We replace them as part of the mount, not as an upsell.
We check alignment condition at every visit
New tires on a misaligned car wear out in half the time. We tell you before it's a problem.
Motorcycles and golf carts included
Not just passenger cars and trucks. Call if you're not sure we handle your vehicle type.

Tire Questions Answered Directly

Can a nail in a tire be repaired, or does it need to be replaced?
It depends on where the nail hit. A puncture in the center tread area that hasn't damaged the internal structure can be properly patched from the inside. A puncture in the shoulder or sidewall can't be safely repaired, the flexing in those zones opens any repair back up under load. We check both before recommending anything. If it's repairable, we patch it. If it's not, we'll tell you why.
How much does tire service cost at a shop?
Repair on a patchable puncture is a straightforward, low-cost job. Full tire replacement varies widely based on tire size, load rating, and how many you're replacing. Balancing is included with every mount. Every job is different, contact Hamiltons Automotive INC for an accurate estimate.
How do I know if my tires need balancing or alignment?
Balancing handles vibration, if the steering wheel shakes at highway speed, the wheels are likely out of balance. Alignment handles pull, if the car drifts left or right when you let go of the wheel, or if you see uneven wear across the tread width, alignment is the problem. They're different issues. We check both. Mixing them up leads to fixing the wrong thing.
How long does a tire rotation take?
A standard four-tire rotation takes 30 to 45 minutes. If we're rotating and balancing at the same time, add time. Most customers get it done during an oil change visit so both services happen in one trip. See our oil change service page for scheduling information.
What happens if I drive on an underinflated tire?
Low pressure causes the tire to flex more than it's designed to. That heat builds up in the sidewall and breaks down the internal structure over time, sometimes suddenly. You'll also see faster wear on the outer edges of the tread. Most modern vehicles have a TPMS warning light, but it triggers at 25% below the recommended pressure, which is already damaging. Check pressure monthly, not just when the light comes on.
Do you service tires on motorcycles and golf carts?
Yes. Most shops only handle passenger cars and light trucks. Hamiltons works on motorcycles and golf carts as well. Call ahead if you're bringing in a specialty vehicle so we can confirm the right tire is in stock or sourced before your appointment.

My oil change light came on as I was driving to a client meeting in Novato. I stopped by Hamiltons Automotive after talking to Leo, the owner, on the phone. The team was helpful and even recommended a tire realignment. They got me out of there quickly and provided a great service.

Hamilton Automotive is FAMILIA! SO GLAD I found this place. Hamilton Familia has been taking care of all my autos exclusively for 6yrs, 2 Toyotas, 2 Fords a Hyundai SF, and an Audi. They get you on the road and keep you there, call with estimate, go over your service, service the whole car, keep up on regular maintenence. I'm singing their praises when I drive. After my last repair car had sensation it was going to take off flying, I thought, I guess it's running pretty good. Take a chance on Hamilton you'll keep coming back. Big Thank You to everyone there.
